FASEM Juror

Christopher Atkins is coordinator of the Minnesota Artists Exhibition Program, a unique curatorial program at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, dedicated to supporting Minnesota artists. Before starting at the MAEP in March 2009, Christopher worked in the twin cities as deputy director of Franklin Art Works, adjunct lecturer at the College of Visual Arts, and visiting assistant professor at Macalester College where he taught courses on museum studies and contemporary art. He has written many exhibition reviews and longer research papers; has worked on numerous independent exhibitions and curatorial projects including recent exhibitions at Form + Content Gallery and Rosalux Gallery, both in Minneapolis; and has co-developed a new site-specific collaboration with students at the Minneapolis College of Art & Design called "MCAD@MIA." He holds an MRes in Visual Cultures, from Goldsmiths College, University of London; an M.A., 20th Century Art, also from Goldsmiths College; and a B.A., History of Art, from the College of Wooster.
