The 3rd Annual Southeast Minnesota Regional Juried Art Exhibition, like the previous shows in 2009 and 2010, is part of Winona's celebration of art and culture, making late June and July an exciting time in the city on the bank of the Mississippi.
The celebration kicks off on June 24 with the FASEM show and the Great River Shakespeare Festival, this season presenting Henry IV, Part I and A Midsummer Night's Dream. The exhibition opens with a reception from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, during which prize winners will be recognized. The public is invited and refreshments are being served. Two days later on June 26 the Minnesota Beethoven Festival begins; this year it features Andre Watts, Thomas Hampson, and the Minnesota Symphony Orchestra. Taken together, these events create an kind of total art experience, embracing the visual, the theatrical, and the musical arts.
What is more, these events come together physically on the Winona State University campus: the plays are performed very near the galleries where the FASEM show is mounted, while many of the concerts are played near both.
The FASEM exhibitions reflect a wide range of subject matter, media, and stylistic approaches: from traditional to the contemporary with a multitude of variations between. Painting, photographs, and printworks predominate, but ceramics and sculpture are represented as well. There is something for every taste and the quality is high. See Images

Most work in the exhibition is for sale. However, sold pieces must remain on view until the show closes. FASEM imposes a commission fee of 40% to help defray costs. Buyers pay the artist; the artist then pays FASEM the commission.
